The echo of your own voice in your headphones can be annoying and interfere with conversations. However, this can be fixed.

If you can hear yourself wearing the headphones, then they are either incorrectly tuned or have a physical design malfunction. In the case of incorrect settings, everything is simple – just change them. This can be done in different ways depending on the type of headset. We are talking about the most effective way to solve the problem.

How to get rid of echo in headphones

If you hear yourself in the headphones, you can probably get rid of this problem. Most often, a simple change of settings can help.

If the headset is connected to a Windows PC, you need to check the settings for the recording and playback devices. To do this, do the following:

  • Go to the “Control Panel” or “System Preferences” section. Find the subsection “Sound” / “Hardware and Sound” in it. You can also open this menu from the taskbar by right-clicking on the speaker icon and selecting Properties.
  • Go to the “Recording” tab, find your headset in it and open its properties.
  • Select the “Listen” tab.
  • Here you will see the item “Listen from this device” / “Monitoring”. Uncheck the box next to this function.
  • After applying the new settings, you should not be able to hear yourself on the headphones.

If the problem persists, try using the headset with another computer or smartphone – if you also hear yourself during calls, we advise you to contact the service center to rule out a device malfunction.
